Keltic Kats grew out of regular sessions in Kilkenny. As is the way of these things, personnel in the early days was rather fluid. However, with the prospect of a US tour in 2003, a more "settled" line-up was necessary, and so the group eventually evolved into its current form. Originally known as Celtic Thunder, under which name they recorded their debut CD "In the Beginning", the formation of another band with the same name — and a lot of legal muscle — led to a name change, thus Keltic Kats, in honour of their beloved Kilkenny (though Joe, as a Tipperaryman, might have something to say about that!)

Singing has been a way of life in the Grace household for as long as anyone can remember. Bob is equally at home interpreting traditional and contemporary songs, while his driving rhythm adds the perfect lift to a set of tunes.

It's been said that Danny was singing before he could speak.
He has brought his expressive delivery of a wide range of material to three continents.

Joe O'Farrell

The instrumental heart of the Kats, Joe's earliest musical experiences were in traditional music - a passion that has never left him.
He trained as a classical flautist and composer, and specialises in the contemporary avant-garde - experience that can lead to surprising results when applied to the band's repertoire!
(Check out www.joeofarrell.com if you want to know what he gets up to in his other life!)
